Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to information when you visit Authentic Daily at authenticdaily.com. It reflects how the site actually works: there are no user accounts, comments are switched off, we run no analytics, and we operate no mailing list.

Last updated: 27 August 2026.

What we collect

Almost nothing directly. There is no way to register, log in, comment or subscribe, so we do not ask you for a name, an email address or any other personal detail in order to read the site.

Two things happen automatically when any website is visited, and they happen here too:

  • Server logs. Our web host records standard technical information with each request – your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser and operating system, and the page you arrived from. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure, and to investigate faults or abuse.
  • Advertising cookies. Advertising on this site is served by Google, which may set cookies or read device identifiers. This is described in the next section.

Advertising

We show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to select and measure ads. Depending on your consent, these may be used to show you personalised advertising based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies is governed by its own policies. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can review or change your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com.

Google AdSense is the only third-party service embedded in these pages. We do not run Google Analytics or any other analytics, tracking or social media pixel.

Consent, and how to change your mind

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you are asked for your consent before advertising cookies are set, using Google’s certified consent tool. You can choose to refuse. Refusing does not stop you reading the site; it means any advertising you see is non-personalised.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser and reloading the page, which will present the consent options again. You can also block or delete cookies entirely through your browser settings – the site will continue to work.

Who your information is shared with

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Information is processed by two categories of provider on our behalf: our web hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs, and Google, which serves the advertising described above. Google acts as an independent controller for advertising data under its own policies.

How long information is kept

Server logs are retained by our host for a short period in the ordinary course of running the service and are then overwritten. We do not build profiles of visitors and we hold no database of readers. Cookie lifetimes are set by Google and are described in its policies.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or the EEA, data protection law gives you rights over personal data that relates to you. These include the right to ask what is held, to ask for it to be corrected or erased, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent you have given.

In practice we hold very little that could identify you – principally IP addresses in server logs – and we have no way to link that to you by name. If you want to exercise a right, contact us using the details below and tell us enough to locate the records you mean.

For advertising data held by Google rather than by us, use the Google links in the Advertising section above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to your national supervisory authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Children

This site is general-interest news commentary. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

About our content

Articles on this site are independent commentary on events reported elsewhere. This is an editorial matter rather than a privacy one, and is described on our Editorial Standards page.

Changes to this policy

If we add a service that collects information differently – analytics, a newsletter or comments, for example – this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will change.
